UEFA Reveals Venues for Future Champions League Finals

The UEFA Executive Committee has announced that the 2026 UEFA Men’s Champions League final will be held at Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary.

The board shared the news today, Wednesday 22 May, via the European governing body of football’s website shortly after their meeting in Dublin, Ireland.

For Hungary, the announcement is big news as it will be the first time the country has been selected to host a European Champions Cup final. They have, however, previously hosted the 2020 UEFA Super Cup and 2023 Europa League decider as well as four tournament matches.

Due to uncertainty over the future of the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy – which was Hungary’s biggest competition for honour – the council has chosen to delay confirmation of the venue for the 2027 UEFA Men’s Champions League final.

The Italian stadium, which can seat 70 000 people, is currently under threat of demolition; forcing its shared occupants – AC Milan and Inter Milan – to seek new headquarters.

The Committee will meet again on 24 September 2024 in Prague, Czechia, at which point they will reevaluate the situation at San Siro.
